OUR SHABBOS HOUSE
We are excited that you are interested in spending Shabbos with us. Our Shabbos Guest House is here to help facilitate your stay. Below is the information you need!
House
The Dor Tikvah House is open to pre-approved guests who are in need of accommodations for the purpose of Shabbat and Yom Tov. The house consists of 5 bedrooms and 2 separate bathrooms, so is able to host multiple guests and families at a time.
Shul
Congregation Dor Tikvah davens across the street to the left of Addlestone Hebrew Academy at 1645 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd. The shul is within the West Ashley Eruv and maintains a kosher kitchen facility.
Davening
Find information on our minyanim page. The davening times for each week are also listed on the homepage, in our Calendar and in our Newsletters.
Meals
You may purchase food from our local kosher caterer Dining In Inc., and eat your meals in the comfort of the Shabbos House. For a full list of available meal options, please visit her website or contact Marcie directly at marcieschallah@gmail.com
See also our full Kosher in Charleston page.
Kitchen
The kitchen is not operational for cooking full meals, but is functional for light meals such as cereal, bagels, etc. All food must be approved by Rabbi Mimran prior to bringing it into the house. Please contact rabbi@dortikvah.org for approval. There is a coffee maker and a water urn. Paper products, coffee, tea, etc. are kept inside the kitchen cabinets.
Charges
Though we do not charge for the stay itself at the Shabbos House, we do suggest a recommended minimum donation of $118. To offset our cleaning cost, we ask for an additional $120, or $20 per person. Donations can be made in several ways: online; by mail to Congregation Dor Tikvah, 1645 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd., Charleston, SC 29407; or by leaving money prior to your departure.
Reserve
To request a stay, fill out our contact form or contact the office. Please include the dates and a little information about yourself and those joining you.
